Palm Beach, Florida — During an hour-long news conference on Wednesday, Donald Trump reiterated his commitment to facing Vice President Kamala Harris in a debate, teased her, and attacked inquiries over the fervor her campaign is garnering.
Trump and Democratic contender Kamala Harris have agreed to a September 10 presidential debate, ABC announced as the President spoke to media at his Palm Beach, Florida, estate. This announcement sets up a much-anticipated face-off in an already historic presidential race. According to Trump, he had suggested holding three presidential debates in September with three different TV networks.
In 2021, Trump reiterated his insistence that there had been a “peaceful transfer of power” and launched further criticism of Republican opponents, including Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, whom he has chastised mercilessly for defying his erroneous claims of election manipulation. But while fielding more than a dozen questions from reporters, Trump attempted to highlight a difference with Harris, who hasn’t hosted a press conference since emerging as the front-runner for the Democratic nomination in the wake of Joe Biden’s exit from the contest.
