After crashing into a pothole on the Railway Embankment Road near UG Road in East Coast Demerara, a 58-year-old electric bike rider passed away.
Dexter Jacobs, of East Coast Demerara, Lot 193 South Better Hope, is deceased. According to Aubrey Clement, a friend of Jacobs, the event happened while Jacobs was traveling to the Guyana Revenue Authority to register an e-bike that his sister had recently purchased for him.
Jacobs was not a first-time bike rider, according to Clement. He said that Jacobs was still getting used to riding the bike and that earlier in the day, he had been drinking beer in the store where they usually hang out. After that, they moved to another store where Jacobs maintained his alcohol consumption.
