Nkanyiso Zungu, a former midfielder for the Orlando Pirates, has disclosed his greatest regret from his time with the team.
After being signed from Stellenbosch FC as a potential prospect, Zungu played with Pirates for just over a season.

The 28-year-old now laments the way he left Pirates, stating that he would be further along in life if he were the person he is today.
In addition to blaming the outside influences in his life at the time, Zungu accepts full responsibility for what transpired at Pirates.
Additionally, Zungu believes that he may have lost focus as a result of the move to Pirates.
However, he is appreciative of how Pirate supported him when things were not going well with him and his career.
Zungu is presently a member of the Motsepe Foundation Championship team, the Pretoria Callies.
In the eight league games Callies have played so far this season, he has appeared in six of them.
“They [Pirates] gave up on me in the end due to external forces and myself.” That’s my greatest regret, then. I would think and view things differently if I were the person I am today. I would have been far away by now if I had used that while I was still there [at Pirates].
“I wasn’t in a good place personally, so it’s not like it was a missed chance. The surroundings I was in at the time, I believe. Perhaps I became overly enthused and lost sight of my purpose,” he continued.
“I think that’s what happened, but I don’t want to go back there since I know where I came from. I am starting from begin with everything because of this. I’ve moved on from everything negative. I must now improve my life and concentrate on football.
