The restoration of this nation’s capital city to its former “garden” image is included in President Irfaan Ali’s government’s sustainable urban development plan, and it has the support of the King Charles Foundation.
“For those of us who are old enough, we remember the pictures of King Charles and the then-President strolling around gardens and talking endlessly about LCDS. We anticipate continuing to collaborate and support the King’s Foundation going forward, particularly in the field of sustainable urban development,” Ali stated.
At the time, Ali was speaking at a high-level conference being held yesterday at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre in Liliendaal with the title “Restoring Ambition for International Climate and Development: Learning from Guyana’s Low Carbon Development Strategy and Its Global Model for Forest Finance.”
