To try his hand at winning the Premiership, David Wotherspoon is adamant that he would adore to continue at Dundee United.
The St Johnstone legend has had a fairly tough season after moving from Inverness to the Tangerines in January. He missed several weeks of action due to a mild but persistent calf issue.
But when it counted, the Canada international came through for his team, coming off the bench against Ayr United to use his direct running, deft movement, and skill with the ball to turn the tide of the match.
His deep pass to Tony Watt resulted in Chris Mochrie’s goal against the Honest Men, which propelled the Terrors back into the top division.
Wotherspoon expressed her desire to remain in this place to Courier Sport. It’s been an amazing journey.
“The club has a wonderful sense of family and teamwork. I’ve received excellent care. Jim Goodwin, the gaffer, has been really open and honest with me.
“I had previously known a couple of the boys, and I have really enjoyed the respect they have showed me, as well as the respect we all have for one another.
“I hope I can stake a claim for next season; it would be great to stay here in the Premiership.”
Wotherspoon also wishes to continue that adventure with the Tannadice outfit; his contract ends in the close season.
