During the regular season, Bam Adebayo was the Miami Heat’s best player on the court.
Adebayo averaged a career-high 10.4 rebounds in addition to 19.3 points. In terms of total points, rebounds, steals, and blocks, he led the team. When the Heat were healthy, Adebayo was the team’s backup option, but he also contributed when the team needed him to be the main scorer.
During the playoffs, his significance was even more apparent. During the Heat’s first-round series against the Boston Celtics, Adebayo’s scoring increased to 22.5 points per game.
Adebayo kept demonstrating his superiority on the ball’s defensive end as well. He averaged more than a steal a game and led the team with 0.9 blocks per contest. Adebayo was included as a Defensive Player of the Year finalist and, when the NBA Honors are revealed, he’ll probably be on one of the All-Defensive Teams.
Among the few players that maintained a reasonable level of fitness throughout the year was Adebayo. He took part in 71 games. With 75 appearances, Jaime Jaquez Jr. was the only other Heat player to appear on the court more frequently.
This year, several of the Heat’s key players struggled with injuries. Butler made 60 appearances in games. Herro was limited to 42 games. A large number of the team’s key players also experienced extended absences. A major contributing factor to the team’s success was Adebayo’s ability to play regularly.
Going ahead, Adebayo will remain a crucial member of the team. His contract is good till 2025–2026.
