Georgetown, Guyana In his second speech after taking office, President Dr. Irfaan Ali declared a one-time financial payment of $200,000 GYD (about 955 USD) for every home in Guyana during a special session of Parliament. The cash grant program is expected to boost the economy by $60 billion GYD, or roughly $286.33 million USD, giving households all around the country extra money. President Ali underlined how crucial this action is to maintaining economic stability and raising citizens’ standards of living. President Ali declared that all public sector workers in Guyana will receive a minimum monthly salary of $100,000 GYD (about $209 USD) by the end of 2025, in addition to the financial award.
